Dealing with Difficult Parents
8 May, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Aimed at supporting Parent and Family Support Advisors
All PFSAs are faced with difficult and demanding parents. This can occur in a school setting, in the parents’ own homes and in the community. Parents can be very critical of the school, Social Care and other services; some can be very intimidating or even aggressive.
This course will examine effective ways of handling such situations. Real situations will be studied and appropriate solutions reviewed. This course is suitable for staff who come into face to face or telephone contact with parents in a variety of environments. We are very mindful of the needs for PFSAs to maintain relationships with these parents who are in challenging circumstances.
