Part of Specialist & Personalised Training Services (SPTS)

At SPTS, we provide impartial, specialist careers advice and guidance (IAG) for young people with SEND, SEMH, and those requiring targeted support across Somerset and surrounding areas. Our service begins from Year 7 and supports students through key transitions.

Our Offer Includes:

  • 1:1 and Supported Sessions
    Tailored guidance to understand and capture individual needs and aspirations.
  • Individualised Careers & Futures Action Plans
    Clear goals and next steps, shared with young people, families, SENCo, and staff.
  • Advice on Education, Employment & Training Pathways
    Helping students explore qualifications, apprenticeships, and future opportunities.
  • Family Engagement
    Building a complete picture to create tailored support through transitions.
  • EHCP Contributions
    Providing detailed input for reviews to ensure career planning is embedded.

Why It Matters

Providing impartial careers advice is a statutory requirement. Our advisers are specially trained and qualified, with a deep understanding of local provision and opportunities for individuals with a range of needs.

We also work across the region to develop Supported Internships, helping young people move confidently into employment.
