New to Special (for teachers and NQTs New to Special Schools or Settings) – Day 1

This programme is for teachers & NQTs who are in their first year of work in a special school or setting.

FACE TO FACE SESSIONS

01.10.19             Teacher role: Thrive & survive!  Managing teams and parent/carer consultations

06.12.19             Planning, feedback and assessment plus Peer visit planning

20.03.20            Behaviour and autism plus Peer visit feedback and reflection

08.05 .20           Sharing strategies and resources plus Peer visit planning

03.07.20            My Journey: first year and beyond…. plus Peer visit feedback & reflection

Aims:

To share knowledge, learning experiences and encourage reflective practice;

To engage in professional dialogue with other teachers;

To promote confidence and resilience in the classroom and wider school community;

NQTs will build on their ITT year, others new to special will develop skills and knowledge relevant to their setting.

5 face to face sessions 2 pm – 4pm.

2 peer school visits.

Delivered by leaders from Special School settings.

Cost £100 per person for the full programme.
