Working collaboratively with its teaching school alliance members and other partners, the Somerset Partnership Teaching School harnesses best practice and local talent to support a school-led system which enhances educational opportunities for all pupils.

School Direct Primary PGCE

From September 2017 we will be offering a School Direct Primary PGCE with SEND specialism. In addition to the mainstream primary training and teaching experience, trainees will also be offered teaching placements in local special schools with an additional SEND training programme.

The SPTS alliance and partners

The SPTS alliance consists of the Yeovil Federation of schools, plus the Somerset Special Schools (SEN.se) and Mountjoy Special School in Dorset. We are a member of the Special Teaching Schools Network and the Special Schools’ Voice.

 SPTS works closely with the local authority and other teaching schools in the region:
